The Resilience Fund for Women and Girls Across Africa is a targeted protection call aimed at expanding local action for the prevention of violence, strengthening of safe and accessible support systems, and improved community-level protection outcomes for women and girls.
Women and girls across many parts of Nigeria, Cameroon, and Sudan continue to face overlapping risks driven by conflict, displacement, poverty, social exclusion, weak service access, and limited protection infrastructure. In many settings, local organizations are the first and most trusted responders, yet they often remain underfunded despite their deep community access, contextual knowledge, and ability to deliver timely support. This fund recognizes that durable protection outcomes depend on strengthening the role of local actors, especially those working close to affected communities.
Under this call, A2WG welcomes proposals for projects that contribute to one or more of the following:
prevention and response to gender-based violence and other protection risks affecting women and girls;
strengthening of referral pathways, safe spaces, case support, psychosocial support, and community-based protection systems;
protection outreach, awareness, and risk mitigation for women and girls in displacement, conflict, and crisis-affected settings;
inclusion of adolescent girls, young women, women with disabilities, and other marginalized groups in protection programming;
community-led approaches that improve safety, dignity, access to information, and trusted support mechanisms.
A2WG encourages applications that demonstrate strong local ownership, clear understanding of the protection context, practical implementation capacity, safeguarding and do-no-harm measures, and realistic pathways for impact. Preference will be given to proposals that are specific about the problem they will address, the target population, the geographic focus, and the change they expect to achieve within the grant period. This reflects A2WG’s internal standard that strong proposals are sharper when they define the population, geography, service gap, and safeguarding logic clearly rather than staying broad or generic.
Eligible applicants are invited to submit a concise concept note for review.
Who may apply
This call is open to registered non-governmental organizations (NGOs), community-based organizations (CBOs), women-led groups, and other local organizations with active operations in Nigeria, Cameroon, or Sudan. Applicants should demonstrate experience working with women and girls, community trust, and capacity to implement protection-related activities in their target locations.

Organization profile
Brief description of the organization, registration status, geographic presence, relevant experience, and protection-related work with women and girls.
Problem statement
Clear description of the protection challenge affecting women and girls in the target area, including who is affected, where, and why the issue requires urgent intervention.
Project goal and objectives
A concise overall goal and specific objectives that describe the change the project seeks to achieve within the proposed implementation period.
Proposed activities and implementation approach
Summary of the main activities, target groups, location(s), and delivery approach. Applicants should explain how the project will improve protection outcomes for women and girls and how local communities will be engaged.
Safeguarding and risk mitigation
Explanation of how the organization will uphold survivor-centered practice, confidentiality, referral safety, complaints handling, and do-no-harm principles.
Inclusion and accessibility
Description of how the project will include adolescent girls, women with disabilities, displaced women and girls, and other at-risk or excluded groups where relevant.
Expected results
Brief outline of anticipated outputs and outcomes, including how progress will be tracked.
Budget summary
High-level budget showing major cost categories linked to the proposed activities.
