Motivation
My motives for joining the program is to equip myself with skills and knowledge that will help sharpen my understanding regarding leadership and how I will be able to amplify women's voices in my community.
Leadership philosophy
Base on my perception, leadership is not about ruling, it's about leading people with compassion, empathy, zeal and passion for development. As a leader, your priority is knowing the problem of your people and finding a solution to it, you've to take your people along regardless of gender, class and physical status.
Research project
EVALUATING THE IMPACT OF STRATEGIC COMMUNICATION IN WOMEN'S PARTICIPATION AND REPRESENTATION IN CIVIC LEADERSHIP.
Women are mostly underrepresented in civic leadership in Nigeria and many African countries. Despite gender focused policies in our constitution, barriers such as limited access to opportunities, being stereotyped by the community, and insufficient strategic communications continue to suppress women’s active participation in decision making. Research that exists often neglects communication strategies from the broader socio-political environment, leaving a gap in understanding how purposeful, gender‑sensitive communication can break barriers and enable women to access leadership spaces. This research seeks to translate communication theory into actionable insights that empower women to step into and shape civic leadership. The research matters because it highlights the importance of effective communication to amplify the impact of gender equitable laws, inclusive leadership enhances governance quality, responsiveness, and public trust. Studies link women’s leadership to better development outcomes giving women the opportunity to discover their potential. This study will map the strategic communication practices currently employed by civil‑society groups, media houses, and political parties, and assess their influence on women’s civic engagement and representation. By combining content analysis of communication artifacts with surveys and interviews of women leaders, my aim is to contribute my own quarter in analysing the strategic communications in women's participation and representation in politics and civic leadership.
