Overview of A2WG
Aid for African Women & Girls (A2WG) is a human-centered social development not-for-profit, nonpartisan, nonsectarian National Non-Governmental Organization (National NGO) that was established and registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in May 2023 with the sole aim of ensuring that women and girls have access to quality life and are part of decision-making where they strive and feel safe. The organization is committed to delivering project activities per global policies and procedures. The organization thematically focuses on Protection, Climate Change/Actions, Health, Early Recovery and Livelihood, Education and Good Governance and Democracy. Being a national and local organization, A2WG is geographically operating in the Northeast and Northwest Nigeria with tremendous technical expertise of working in Borno, Adamawa and Yobe (BAY) states and Katsina respectively due to its well understanding of the cultural dynamics and change in context of the communities in the BAY states.

Background of the project
With support from the NHF, A2WG will be implementing a protection project with a specific focus on Gender Based Violence (GBV) . The project will be implemented by A2WG and jointly with AGUF (Agaji Global Unity Foundation) across 2 locations viz; Madagali, and Gwoza , Adamawa state.

The project focuses on Strengthening Community Resilience and Survivor-Centered GBV Prevention and Response for Conflict-Affected Women, Girls, and Vulnerable Groups. Following a holistic approach, the program targets returnees, IDPs, host communities, traditional/religious leaders and people living with disabilities.
Objectives
The objective of this recruitment is to engage qualified candidates with relevant experience and knowledge in provision of quality case management and psycho-social support services thereby reinforcing the human resource to provide better result and outcomes.

Duration
The duration of this recruitment will last for 2 weeks from advertisement and selection of the best candidates. The selected candidates will be contracted for 6 months starting from November 2026 till April 2026.

The GBV/Protection caseworkers will be responsible for identifying and managing GBV cases, as well as other protection cases, for referral needed by persons with disabilities. They will work directly with beneficiaries to provide support and assistance.

Responsibilities of Protection caseworker
• Provide professional and confidential services to survivors of GBV in line with GBV minimum standard.
• Identify, and provide/refer persons with disabilities in need of assistive aids via established criteria and guidelines, in line with the general protection principles, and disability programming principles.
• Document client information through the accurate filling of intake forms and ensure confidential and safe storage in the GBV Inter Agency forms.
• Ensure the GBVIMS (Gender-Based Violence Information Management System) is accurately updated regularly.
• Participate in the interpretation of the analyzed data on trends and work with the program Manager to disseminate information to all relevant stakeholders.
• Follow GBV/disability guiding principles of respect, confidentiality, safety/security non- discrimination, equity, inclusion, and accessibility while providing services to women and girls.
• Monitor how the GBV referral pathway is working by making direct follow-ups with other organizations that are providing services to survivors.
• Develop individualized case plans and referrals for persons with disabilities.
• Monitor the coordination of the unity and inclusion centers across delegated project locations for persons with disabilities, with technical supervision from the protection assistant.
• WaGSS Engagements and provision of support to safe space supervisors and community protection mechanisms.
• Co-facilitate WaGSS activities when WaGSS facilitators require support or are on leave.
• Facilitate or support in the facilitation of sessions to increase awareness of the consequences of GBV, promote available services to women and girls, especially women and girls with disabilities, and address stigma preventing access to services at the women's centers.
• Collaborate with other stakeholders to ensure fruitful and smooth field-level coordination.
• Identify strategic collaboration and implement activities in collaboration with other service providers and conduct actor mapping.
• Closely coordinate with the CFS and WGSS facilitators on trends, community dynamics, and community acceptance, to modify activities and material accordingly.

Required Skills and Qualifications
• Diploma/NCE or Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or a related field.
• Experience in working with survivors of GBV and vulnerable populations.
• Knowledge of GBV case management principles and procedures.
• Empathy and sensitivity in dealing with individuals who have experienced trauma.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
• A strong understanding of Hausa, Kanuri and any other local language within the project locations is an added advantage.
